Coming to Bai Da 2 village, Xuan Du commune - where 90% of the population is Muong ethnic group, talking with village chief Nguyen Dinh Khuong, we learned that the village is home to the majority of Muong ethnic group. Vice Chairman of Xuan Du Commune People's Committee Le Viet Huong said: "For many years now, in the villages, there have been no more lavish, ostentatious, and costly weddings and funerals. Instead, weddings and funerals have been organized in a simple, civilized, and economical manner. In addition, the commune currently has three festivals, namely the new rice festival in Bai Da 1 village, Phu Na festival, and Set Booc May festival, which are maintained and organized annually in a civilized, safe, and economical manner, becoming unique traditional cultural activities of the locality. These results are thanks to the commune actively promoting the propaganda of implementing civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals, and festivals; including criteria for implementing civilized lifestyles in weddings and funerals in the evaluation of the titles "Cultural Family", "Cultural Village"; strengthening inspection, examination, and supervision before, during, and after organizing festivals, promptly preventing and strictly handling violations in activities. festivals, especially acts of exploiting relics, festivals, and beliefs for personal gain, and superstitious activities"...
In Luong Ngoc village, Cam Tu commune, on the occasion of the opening festival of the sacred fish stream (January 8 every year), there is no longer the scene of jostling and pushing to burn incense and perform rituals. Instead, there are civilized, friendly and polite images of the people and tourists when attending the festival. Along with that, the Muong ethnic people in the village also actively organize cultural and sports activities imbued with the cultural nuances of the Muong ethnic people such as gong beating, crossbow shooting, cockfighting, throwing balls, swinging, pushing sticks... Thereby, to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Muong ethnic people; at the same time, propagandize, promote and introduce the image of the locality to attract tourists. According to the Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Cam Tu Commune, Phung The Tai, "to implement a civilized lifestyle in local cultural activities, especially in weddings, funerals and festivals, the commune has actively mobilized organizations to participate, building models such as union members, youth organizing civilized weddings, simple organization forms while still ensuring solemnity; elderly members, farmer members... actively promote the core role in bringing conventions on civilized lifestyle in funerals into life. The commune also encourages villages to invest in and build cultural, sports facilities, and entertainment venues to create conditions for people to have a place to live together and organize festivals. Thanks to that, wedding, funeral and festival activities in the commune are increasingly organized by people in a civilized way, minimizing cumbersome procedures and saving money.
In order for wedding, funeral and festival activities in mountainous areas to become more and more orderly and organized in a civilized and economical manner, the cultural sector in mountainous areas has actively organized many propaganda activities, mobilizing people to comply with and effectively implement the movement to build a cultural life; regularly organize cultural and sports activities to improve people's spiritual life; organize regular inspections of festival activities. Thanks to that, in recent years, most localities in mountainous areas have had clear changes in building a civilized lifestyle at weddings, funerals and festivals. Thereby, contributing to the formation of a healthy cultural environment, towards building a civilized lifestyle in the community.
