In accordance with the Law on Military Service dated June 19, 2015, Decision No. 102/QD-TTg dated September 20, 2024 of the Prime Minister on the conscription of citizens in 2025, and Guidance No. 4705/HD-BQP dated October 31, 2024 of the Ministry of National Defense on the selection and conscription of citizens in 2025, from February 13 to 15, young people nationwide will be heading off to fulfill their military service obligations in 2025.
In 2025, the recruitment and conscription of citizens into the military will be carried out in a single phase. According to the plan, the 2025 military enlistment ceremony in localities will take place over 3 days.
Specifically, on February 13th, 52 provinces and cities held military conscription ceremonies, including the Hanoi Capital Command; 6 provinces in Military Region 1; 4 provinces in Military Region 2; 9 provinces and cities in Military Region 3; 11 provinces and cities in Military Region 5; 9 provinces and cities in Military Region 7; and 12 provinces and cities in Military Region 9.
On February 14th, six provinces and cities ( thuộc Military Region 4) held ceremonies for the handover of new recruits.
On February 15th, five provinces ( thuộc Military Region 2) held ceremonies for the handover of new recruits.
To ensure that the 2025 military recruitment meets the assigned targets, maintains quality, and complies with the regulations of the Military Service Law, the Ministry of National Defense has instructed localities to effectively carry out military service registration and manage citizens of military service age; and to improve the quality of the selection and nomination process for male citizens of military service age to participate in the preliminary military service selection, ensuring democracy, fairness, and transparency.
The process of reviewing applications for temporary deferment and exemption from military service, as well as applications for military service eligibility, is conducted rigorously and seriously, ensuring that no eligible individuals are overlooked or missed.
In addition, localities have directed and organized the consolidation of military service councils at all levels, and district-level military service health examination councils with the correct composition; strictly assigned responsibilities to each organization and individual, linking them to the quality of recruitment; ensured sufficient medical equipment and supplies; and assigned experienced, capable, and highly qualified personnel to participate in military service health examinations, ensuring quality, accurate conclusions in accordance with regulations, and accountability for their conclusions.
Local authorities responsible for military recruitment have strengthened the leadership and guidance of Party committees and local governments at all levels, promoting the role and responsibility of all levels, sectors, political and social organizations, and the supervision of the people in military recruitment; directed the effective implementation of propaganda, dissemination, and education on military service laws; developed specific plans and implemented all stages and steps of military recruitment in accordance with the law, ensuring sufficient quotas, quality, and timely recruitment.
In order to prepare effectively for the recruitment process, local authorities responsible for troop deployment and receiving units have been regularly exchanging information, coordinating, and strictly implementing all stages and steps in the recruitment process to ensure targets, quality, and absolute safety are met.
The receiving units have developed plans and procedures for receiving and transporting new recruits to their units; they have also made thorough preparations for accommodation and living arrangements for the soldiers from the very first day they arrive at the unit.
