The Ministry of Construction agrees with the proposal that it is necessary to study the investment in expanding the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway to 12 lanes using the PPP method.
The Ministry of Construction has recently sent a document to the Vietnam Road Administration and Phuong Thanh Transportation Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company (the investor) regarding the investment in expanding the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway under the public-private partnership (PPP) method.
The expansion aims to meet transportation needs, reduce traffic congestion, promote socio -economic development in the region, and gradually complete the road network plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Prime Minister.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Construction agrees with the investor's proposal and the project enterprise regarding the necessity of studying the investment in expanding the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway using the PPP method.

The Ministry of Construction has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to take the lead in coordinating with the investor/project enterprise and relevant agencies and units to implement the next steps, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Previously, on March 7th, Phuong Thanh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company sent a document to the Ministry of Construction proposing to expand the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway to 10-12 lanes using the PPP method, comprising three options.
Option 1 involves expanding the highway from the Phap Van interchange to the Phu Thu interchange. To minimize land acquisition and reduce the impact on the lives of people living along the route, the expanded section will be located on an elevated bridge running along the route, with the elevated bridge section situated in the strip of land between the highway and the service road.
Option 2 involves expanding the highway from the Phap Van interchange to the Dai Xuyen interchange. The expanded section of the route will be situated on an elevated bridge running along the route, with the elevated bridge section located in the strip of land between the highway and the service road.
Option 3 involves expanding the route from the Phap Van intersection to the Dai Xuyen intersection. Specifically, the section from the Phap Van intersection to the Khe Hoi intersection, which passes through many residential areas, is proposed to be constructed as an elevated bridge along the route to minimize land acquisition and the impact on the lives of people living along the route.
