According to verified information, on the afternoon of June 18, 2024, Market Management Team No. 6, Market Management Department of Ca Mau province coordinated with relevant units to conduct a surprise inspection of Nguyen Mai Store Business Household owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, born in 1993, residing in Ca Mau province.
Outside the location where the Market Management force inspected was a grocery store, making it difficult to access and gather information.
Outside this inspection site is the address of a grocery store that sells milk, diapers, and many other essential consumer goods. However, all livestreaming, product order closing, and packaging activities are carried out deep inside the grocery store, making it difficult for authorities to access and detect signs of violations.
Two main Facebook accounts live stream to close orders for Nguyen Mai Store
During the inspection, the authorities quickly determined that Nguyen Mai Store mainly conducts business on Facebook in the form of livestreaming to close orders through two main accounts named "Nguyen Mai Store Ca Mau" with 6,800 likes, 10,000 followers and Facebook "Nguyen Mai Store" with 1,300 likes, 1,600 followers. With each livestream session, these accounts have hundreds of comments and close product orders.
Some products tested on site
The products introduced on livestream are mainly clothes, handbags, cosmetics, and functional foods priced from tens to hundreds of thousands of VND per product. Initially, the authorities determined that most of the goods at the business establishment had signs of unknown origin, were smuggled, and some items showed signs of counterfeiting registered trademarks.
At the time of inspection, the authorities sealed all 04 desktop computers, 02 laptops, 13 mobile phones, 06 books recording customer information, 04 sets of livestream equipment including lamps and steam irons, 208 bags of goods including ready-made clothes, handbags, 12 boxes of cosmetics, 04 boxes of food, 02 boxes of printed sales paper.
Estimated amount of illegal goods detained at the Business Household is up to 10 tons
According to Mr. Pham Van Ut, Captain of Market Management Team No. 6, Market Management Department of Ca Mau province, the estimated quantity of seized exhibits and infringing goods is up to 10 tons. This is one of the largest e-commerce inspection cases in Ca Mau province in particular and the Western region in general up to now.
According to information collected at the scene, on June 17-18 alone, the total revenue of Nguyen Mai Store's business household closing orders was up to nearly 600 million VND.
Due to the relatively large quantity of violating goods, by the afternoon of June 20, the work of counting and classifying goods with signs of violations continued to be carried out by the authorities to serve as a basis for handling according to regulations.
