Delegates and hundreds of domestic and international experts attended the event.
Information at the Hanoi Cancer Prevention 2025 conference shows that currently, the number of cancer cases is increasing rapidly globally and becoming one of the most worrying health issues.
According to the Global Cancer Organization (Globocan) 2022, the World Health Organization (WHO) recorded about 20 million new cancer cases and 9.7 million cancer deaths.
Similar to the world, the number of cancer cases in Vietnam has nearly doubled in just over a decade, from 92,000 cases in 2010 to 180,000 cases in 2022, showing that the disease burden is increasingly large for the people and the health system.
In particular, a significant proportion of patients are only detected when the disease has progressed to a late stage, reducing treatment effectiveness and increasing treatment costs.
The Hanoi Cancer Prevention Conference 2025 brought many quality reports and research papers including 100 scientific reports, of which 27 papers came from international reporters (USA, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Taiwan - China, Malaysia, Singapore, India) with the participation of more than 500 domestic experts.
The conference is a prestigious scientific forum, updating information, exchanging experiences and introducing the latest research in the fields of Clinical Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Pathology - Molecular Biology, Nuclear Medicine, Palliative Care, Clinical Pharmacy, and many other specialized topics.
Notably, this year's conference marked a step forward in international cooperation with special thematic sessions such as: ECHO - a project to expand community health care towards improving community health through online training to improve professional capacity; VTOP (Vietnam Team Oncology Program) - a multidisciplinary cooperation program in cancer treatment, promoting comprehensive care based on multidisciplinary teams...
