Prime Minister attends the Red Flamboyant Festival

The 10th Red Flamboyant Festival is an annual event and has become a typical traditional festival, the pride of Hai Phong people. This is an important event to promote and introduce the land and people of Hai Phong; build the brand, enhance the position and prestige of Hai Phong domestically and internationally; promote the diversification and improvement of the quality of tourism products, and at the same time affirm the city's outstanding economic and social achievements, meeting the expectations of Hai Phong people, overseas Vietnamese, domestic and foreign tourists.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang , Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung and delegates attended the program.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung affirmed that, implementing the direction of the Central Government, Hai Phong City attaches special importance to the cultural values and spiritual life of the people, which are both the driving force, the endogenous strength, and the source of all development. Therefore, the Red Flamboyant Festival has been held since 2012. During the annual festival, hundreds of events are held, leaving good impressions on the city's residents and visitors.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee stated that, on the occasion of the 68th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day, looking back at history, Hai Phong is the place "at the forefront of the storm", the "eastern fence" to protect the country; Hai Phong city is always proud of its tradition of "loyalty - determination to win". In the early years of the renovation period, Hai Phong was a locality with many breakthroughs, so it suggested and contributed to the Central Government to issue Directive 100 and Resolution 10 on "contracting in agriculture". In recent years, although affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and conflicts in Europe, Hai Phong's economic growth rate has remained high, with an average of 7 consecutive years of GRDP reaching 13.2%/year, and in the first 3 months of this year alone, GRDP was 3 times higher than the national average.

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung delivered the opening speech of the Festival.

Accordingly, Hai Phong has been focusing on investing in building a regional transportation system to expand economic space; expanding urban areas towards the sea and moving the Political - Administrative center to the North of Cam River by 2025. At the same time, Hai Phong is also a leading locality in solving old apartment buildings and is striving to be a leader in developing social housing; is actively building model new rural communes and districts, criteria for accessing urban areas and will also be completed by 2025.

The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) has been consistently ranked among the top in the country in recent years, and digital transformation has received special attention. Hai Phong continues to be at the forefront of caring for families with revolutionary contributions, supporting the poor, exempting tuition fees for all levels of education, and providing many other practical supports for the people. Party building and Party rectification work continues to be strengthened; national defense and security and order are ensured, and border and island areas are maintained.

Highlights of the art program "Hai Phong - Shining coastal region"

“With historical tradition, along with the above results and goals, it is an important premise and motivation for Hai Phong to strive to lead the country in the cause of industrialization and modernization and truly “become the driving force for development of the whole country”, the Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized.

Following the Opening Ceremony was the Art Program with the theme “Hai Phong – Shining the coastal region”. The program was elaborately staged with a youthful, vibrant, grand and impressive style, but also bearing the mark of the land and people of Hai Phong.

The art program includes 3 chapters: "City of the Rising Sun", "Red Phoenix Heart" and "Hai Phong - Shining Seaport", with special art performances by singers and artists loved by many generations of audiences such as: Meritorious Artist Le Giang, violinist Hoang Rob, Symphony Orchestra of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, singers: Tung Duong, Pham Thu Ha, Phuong Linh, Dat Ozy, Raper ICD, Trong Hieu, Oplus group, Van Mai Huong, Hoang Thuy Linh, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Ho Ngoc Ha, AC Dance Group, ASP Dance Group and performance group of Hai Phong University...

The art program has a special performance elaborately staged to the melody of the theme song written specifically for the Red Flamboyant Festival called "Hai Phong - Shining the coastal region" through the performance of artists combined with drones to create extremely special effects on stage and in the sky. The art program brings a message about a Hai Phong that promotes the tradition of "Moderation - Determination to win", the efforts to innovate, dare to think, dare to do, arouse the strength of the entire people, bringing Hai Phong into a new period of development with new marks, worthy of being "the driving force of development of the Northern region and the whole country", soon becoming a modern, civilized, sustainable industrial city of the Southeast Asian region.

Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong City Tran Thi Hoang Mai said that in addition to the festival, the city also has 31 typical events and 97 activities responding to the economy, culture, sports, and tourism taking place in the central flower garden area of the districts in the area. In particular, since March, the locality has started to implement a number of cultural, sports, and tourism activities such as the National Championship of Lion Dance Clubs, beach volleyball, etc.

The art program attracts many people and tourists.

At the end of April, the locality organized the Vietnam Sea and Island Folk Culture Festival, Do Son Sea Festival 2023 at the Dragon Hill International Tourist Area. The puppetry festival with the participation of Central theaters, neighboring provinces combined with ancient puppet troupes performing many genres, such as: water puppets, string puppets, stick puppets, mask puppets, disguise puppets, foot puppets, belly puppets... Besides, Hai Phong organized a paragliding performance with engines performed by pilots, performing in formation carrying the national flag flying in the sky. In addition, the 2023 Red Flamboyant Festival also held many other outstanding activities, such as: Chau Van singing festival; Street music festival; performance of the city's intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO; launching the Cat Ba International Marathon 2023, the national sea and island propaganda competition...

Earlier, in the afternoon of the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the investment project to build and operate the infrastructure of Xuan Cau Industrial Park and Duty Free Zone - one of the key projects of Hai Phong.
