The AZEC initiative, which will be implemented from 2023, is a multilateral cooperation mechanism to support Asian countries in addressing three challenges, including ensuring economic growth; ensuring energy security and pursuing the process of decarbonizing the entire economic sector based on the concept of "One goal, many paths."
AZEC countries reaffirm their commitment to offer diverse and realistic pathways towards net zero emissions, taking into account each country's unique circumstances, existing targets or policies, and development challenges including geographic, economic, technological, institutional, social and equity factors.
