Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed three orientations in ASEAN-India relations.

On the afternoon of October 26th, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with other ASEAN leaders and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attended the 22nd ASEAN-India Summit.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated India's role, affirming Vietnam's support for the "Act East" policy, and proposed three major directions for cooperation: strengthening economic connectivity, expanding people-to-people exchanges in education and tourism, and promoting maritime cooperation to ensure peace and maritime security in accordance with international law.

At the conclusion of the Conference, the Leaders adopted a Joint Statement on Sustainable Tourism , affirming their determination to promote substantive, inclusive, and sustainable cooperation between ASEAN and India in the new phase.
