Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visits former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh

On March 8, on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day, the 40th anniversary of the Kovalevskaia Prize and the 2024 award ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh, the first Chairwoman of the Vietnam Kovalevskaia Prize Committee.

Inquiring about the health of former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully thanked her for her important contributions to the cause of national liberation, construction and defense; including the period when she held the position of Foreign Minister of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam and Head of the Negotiating Delegation of the Provisional Revolutionary Government at the Paris Conference on Vietnam from 1969 to 1973.

As Chairwoman of the Kovalevskaia Award Committee of Vietnam for 31 years, from 1985 to 2016, former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh devoted much of her heart, effort and intelligence to maintaining the effectiveness of the Award, contributing to encouraging and motivating Vietnamese women in scientific research. The Prime Minister wished the former Vice President good health, longevity and continued contributions to the country.

Former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for his sentiments and attention; and expressed her belief that under the Party's leadership, the country, after 50 years of unification, will accelerate, make breakthroughs, and achieve more important achievements to firmly enter the new era.
