At the meeting, Chairman of Sailun Group Liu Yanhua informed about the formation and development process of Sailun Group since its establishment in 2002 in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China. Currently, Sailun Group has 13,723 employees worldwide, total assets of 26 billion yuan, annual revenue of 18 billion yuan. Sailun products are present in 180 countries and territories.
Sailun has invested in building a factory to produce all tire lines of the Group in Tay Ninh province, established a Research and Development Center in Ho Chi Minh City and established a joint venture with Cooper Tires in 2019, with a total investment capital of about 1.5 billion USD to date.
The Tay Ninh factory is currently the largest overseas production base of Sailun Group, creating jobs for 7,000 employees. The factory is using 100% of Vietnam's natural rubber resources. Meanwhile, the Research and Development Center in Ho Chi Minh City is also the largest overseas research and development center of Sailun Group, built by Sailun highly valuing the quality of Vietnam's human resources.
Ms. Luu Yen Hoa expressed her gratitude to the Vietnamese Government and authorities at all levels for supporting and creating favorable conditions for Sailun Group to invest in Vietnam from 2012 to present; and pledged that the Group will continue to invest an additional 200 million USD in Vietnam in the coming time.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang emphasized that the Vietnam-China relationship is developing well, creating a premise for the two countries to promote cooperation in various fields, including investment. As of July 2024, China has 4,750 valid projects with a total registered capital of more than 28.5 billion USD, ranking 6th out of 144 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.
The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the role and position of Sailun as one of the world's leading tire manufacturers as well as the business results, human resource development and social responsibility implementation of Sailun Vietnam Co., Ltd.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that the Vietnamese Government has assigned the Ministry of Science and Technology to coordinate with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to develop criteria for high-tech enterprises; requested Sailun to continue applying the most advanced technologies to meet the criteria for high-tech enterprises; strengthen connections, support, and create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the Group's value chain and supply chain, contributing to promoting the green and sustainable development process in Vietnam as well as promoting the cooperative relationship between the two countries.
