(LĐ online) - On the morning of May 15, in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense , Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Searching, Collecting and Identifying Martyrs' Remains (abbreviated as National Steering Committee 515) chaired a national online conference to review the implementation of the Prime Minister's Decisions on regimes, policies and assurance work for organizations and individuals performing the task of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains.
The conference was held in person and online at 72 locations nationwide.

Over the years, the work of gathering and collecting martyrs' remains has always received attention and direction from the Party, State, central ministries and branches; local Party committees and authorities, leaders and commanders of agencies and units; the system of documents on the work of gathering and collecting martyrs' remains has been increasingly improved with many synchronous, drastic and flexible solutions.
The work of leadership, direction, dissemination, implementation of regimes, policies and assurance work for organizations and individuals performing the task of gathering and collecting martyrs' remains must be serious, strict and effective.
Policies and regimes are fully guaranteed, timely, and for the right subjects; budget is arranged, managed, and used for the right purposes; means and equipment are effectively managed, exploited, and used to create favorable conditions for performing the task of gathering and retrieving martyrs' remains.
From 2014 to present, the Ministry of National Defense has coordinated with the Ministry of Finance and relevant authorities to report to the Prime Minister to promptly ensure funding of more than 4,200 billion VND to implement activities of gathering and collecting martyrs' remains; 106 vehicles for the Office and Standing Agency of the Steering Committee 515 at all levels with the correct quantity and type as prescribed.
As a result, from 2013 to present, the whole country has gathered and collected more than 21,200 martyrs' remains (more than 10,200 in the country, more than 3,300 in Laos, more than 7,500 in Cambodia), which has partly met the expectations of the people and relatives of martyrs' families, contributed to stabilizing the political and social situation in localities, and increased people's trust in the guidelines, policies and strategies of the Party and State.
In the 2013 - 2024 period, the President, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of National Defense, military regions and localities have awarded various forms of recognition to nearly 530 collectives and more than 730 individuals of Vietnam and more than 210 collectives and more than 580 individuals of Laos and Cambodia for their good performance in gathering and collecting martyrs' remains; implementing regimes, policies and ensuring work for organizations and individuals performing the task of gathering and collecting martyrs' remains.
In Lam Dong, over the past 10 years, the provincial armed forces have organized 29 surveys and searches for martyrs' graves. They have collected 1 set of martyrs' remains at Bao Loc City Martyrs' Cemetery; and taken biological samples to identify the remains of 9 martyrs.
The work of documenting, storing and handing over martyrs' remains was carried out seriously, under the supervision of the authorities, ensuring high authenticity. Nearly 60 million VND was paid for regimes and policies for those tasked with searching for and collecting martyrs' remains. Nearly 1 billion VND was used for propaganda work, collecting and processing information about martyrs and martyrs' graves, and guiding relatives to take DNA samples.
Regarding the direction, tasks and solutions for the coming time, the National Steering Committee 515 determined to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, raise awareness of all levels, sectors, leaders of agencies, units and localities regarding the work of gathering and collecting martyrs' remains and implement policies and regimes for organizations and individuals in performing the task of gathering and collecting martyrs' remains to achieve practical results.
Research and propose the Government and the Prime Minister to issue new documents on regimes, policies and guarantees for organizations and individuals performing the task of gathering and retrieving martyrs' remains according to the provisions of law. Strengthen information and propaganda work; promote the combined strength of the entire political system; the roles and responsibilities of agencies, organizations and forces; promote international cooperation in gathering and retrieving martyrs' remains; mobilize resources to support activities of gathering and retrieving martyrs' remains.
Strengthen inspection and supervision work; promptly detect and correct wrongdoings and negative behaviors in implementing policies and regimes and ensuring the task of gathering and retrieving martyrs' remains.
