Current situation and solutions to prevent and combat human trafficking

That was the content of the discussion organized by the An Giang Provincial Lawyers Association in coordination with the Department of Justice on May 27, with the participation of the following sectors: police, prosecutors, courts, border guards, district-level lawyers' associations, provincial lawyers' associations, lawyer members and students of An Giang University.

There were 14 presentations shared, discussing the current situation of human trafficking; causes and consequences; prevention and treatment; measures and solutions... In particular, many presentations proposed building forces, detecting and preventing rather than treating. In particular, promptly completing the law on preventing and combating human trafficking, and enhancing the responsibility of agencies, organizations and the social community, especially towards families.

Information conference, human trafficking crimes in the world , in Vietnam and An Giang province, although decreased recently, are very difficult to detect. From 2020 to now, the Provincial Border Guard has received 80 arrivals with 125 people believed to be victims of trafficking. In 3 batches with 111 Vietnamese citizens returned by Cambodia due to signs of being trafficked, the unit received and completed procedures to hand over to the Provincial Police.
