Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To and his delegation visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to a number of families in Phu Xuan Ward, Hue City; listened to their thoughts and wishes, and deeply sympathized with the people about the damage caused by floods.

Visiting and encouraging teachers of Tran Quoc Toan Primary School, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics and leaders of Hue City asked about the damage to the school and shared the difficulties with the school.

Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To requested the Hue City Military Command to urgently concentrate forces to prioritize helping schools to welcome children back to school soon. He requested the Hue City Military Units to continue to promote their sense of responsibility, prioritize forces and means to support and help educational, medical and public facilities to quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon return to normal operations.

On the same day, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai visited, shared and encouraged the family of a person who died due to a drowning accident at Chua Bridge area (Thanh Thuy ward).

Previously, at around 5:45 p.m. on October 28, two brothers NTQ (born in 2001) and LVTQ (born in 2011, both residing in Thanh Thuy ward) were rowing a boat across the Chua bridge area when they encountered a strong current and the boat capsized. LVTQ was rescued by local people in time, while NTQ was swept away by the water and died.

At the victim's family, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai kindly visited, expressed his deep condolences, and encouraged relatives to overcome the loss and soon stabilize their lives; at the same time, requested the local government to continue supporting the family to take care of the funeral carefully and safely. The Hue City People's Committee has supported 18 million VND to help the family with the funeral.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai also visited the volunteer group "Free Kitchen" at the Law School, Hue University. He acknowledged the sharing spirit of volunteers, students, lecturers and benefactors who have maintained the provision of an average of more than 2,000 free meals per day to people in flooded areas in recent days.

Also on October 31 , the leaders of Huong Tra ward visited and encouraged the family of Mr. Tran Van Hau (residential group 2) whose son was swept away by floodwaters. The ward authorities expressed their deep condolences and supported the family in arranging the funeral and stabilizing their lives soon.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 29, THVM (residing in Huong Tra ward) and his friend were pushing their motorbike through a flooded section of National Highway 1A when they were swept away. Authorities found the victim’s body on the evening of October 30, about 50 meters from the accident site.
