Small boat in distress, villagers join hands to rescue after catching 1.5 tons of herring

Fisherman Ho Phi Anh, residing in Thach Tri commune, Ha Tinh city (Ha Tinh province) had an accident when his boat capsized near the shore after catching 1.5 tons of herring. The incident quickly attracted the attention and help of the whole village and community, who joined forces to rescue both the boat and the fish to shore.

According to information from the People's Committee of Thach Tri Commune (Ha Tinh City, Ha Tinh Province), Mr. Ho Phi Anh and his crew went out to sea early in the morning of March 9, about 9 nautical miles from shore to fish.

After collecting the net at noon of the same day, they were extremely surprised to see that the number of fish caught in the net was so large, up to nearly 1.5 tons, a dream yield for fishermen in coastal areas.

The joy was not complete, when on the way back, Mr. Anh's boat capsized due to big waves. Because the boat was carrying too many fish, the strong resistance of the waves caused the boat to capsize. Both Mr. Anh and his crew quickly jumped out of the boat to save their lives.

Immediately after the incident, a cry for help was heard and the coastal community responded immediately.

Dozens of Thach Tri residents did not hesitate to rush out to sea, joining forces to pull the boat and a large amount of fish to shore. However, because the boat and the amount of fish were too heavy, the residents had to use a tractor to help bring the boat and fish safely to shore.

Fisherman Ho Phi Anh shared: "To remove these fish, we had to stretch the net in sections and pull hard to make the fish fall down.

The work lasted until the afternoon. This catch of fish brought me about 15 million VND. However, on the way back, the boat had an accident, the machine was damaged, it took a lot of time and money to repair."

Currently, Mr. Ho Phi Anh's boat has been brought ashore and is being repaired to fix the damage.
