Actively cooperate to develop electricity infrastructure in Thai Nguyen

On the morning of May 8, Comrade Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province and Comrade Nguyen Duc Thien, General Director of the Northern Power Corporation, co-chaired the Conference on electricity infrastructure development and cooperation agreement between the Provincial People's Committee and the Corporation in the coming time. Attending the Conference were Comrade Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of relevant departments and branches.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Dung affirmed: Thai Nguyen is the industrial center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, identified as an important growth pole of the region. He thanked the Northern Power Corporation for investing in key power infrastructure in the province. At the same time, he informed about the current planning for the development of industrial parks and clusters in the province and emphasized that power infrastructure is the top concern of investors when coming to Thai Nguyen. The province is focusing on attracting two major investors to build data centers and produce future materials.

The Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee requested the leaders of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and the Northern Power Corporation to continue to coordinate with the province in planning and investing in power infrastructure to meet the production and consumption needs of businesses and people. At the same time, support businesses in the province in using renewable energy and developing wind power in Vo Nhai district. Based on the cooperation agreements between the Provincial People's Committee and the Northern Power Corporation to continue mobilizing resources to invest in power infrastructure, review, amend and supplement the cooperation terms accordingly...

General Director of the Northern Power Corporation Nguyen Duc Thien expressed his joy that Thai Nguyen province has attracted many FDI investors, established more industrial zones and clusters, and the province's planning closely follows the Power Plan VIII. He affirmed that the Corporation has identified investment in developing power infrastructure in Thai Nguyen as urgent projects; requested the province to closely follow the planning to set up landmarks, have a route, and avoid overlapping between plans.

For people who have not purchased electricity directly from the Northern Power Corporation, accepting the province's recommendations, Comrade Nguyen Duc Thien assigned the Planning Department (Northern Power Corporation) to advise on the purchase of grid system assets managed by cooperatives to invest in upgrading, ensuring the supply of quality electricity to serve people's daily life. For electricity in industrial parks and clusters, the Electricity sector will retail directly to customers. Comrade also welcomed businesses in the province to invest in renewable energy, increase exploitation to avoid wasting social resources...

In the province, the Northern Power Corporation is implementing many projects. At the conference, leaders of the specialized units of the Northern Power Corporation raised a number of difficulties and requested the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments, branches and localities to coordinate to resolve them.

Concluding the Conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Dung assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to be the focal point, coordinating with specialized units of the Northern Power Corporation to advise on resolving difficulties and obstacles in implementing power infrastructure development projects and amending and supplementing the signed Cooperation Agreement between the Provincial People's Committee and the Corporation accordingly.

Within the framework of the working program, the Department of Industry and Trade and Thai Nguyen Electricity Company summarized the implementation status of the adjustment of the 8th Power Plan, the investment progress of power grid infrastructure construction projects, the current status of power supply in the province; reviewed and evaluated the implementation results, the conformity of the content of the cooperation agreement signed between the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee and the Northern Power Corporation.
