Bidding farewell to martyr Trinh Xuan Nguyen as he is brought back to his hometown.

(Dong Nai) - On the morning of October 30th, the Southern Representative Office of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs, in coordination with the Dong Nai Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs and the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs and War Invalids, organized the excavation and repatriation of the remains of martyr Trinh Xuan Nguyen to his hometown.

Martyr Trinh Xuan Nguyen enlisted in March 1965 and died on April 19, 1972, during the height of the Spring-Summer 1972 Campaign, while serving as a Sergeant and Deputy Squad Leader of Battalion 9-KB. His remains have been interred at Binh Long Martyrs' Cemetery for over 53 years.

Thanks to the connection and verification of information from the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs and other relevant agencies, the relatives of martyr Trinh Xuan Nguyen learned that his grave is located at Binh Long Martyrs Cemetery, now in Tan Khai commune, Dong Nai province.

Accompanied by family members to receive the remains of fallen soldier Trinh Xuan Nguyen back to his hometown, Mr. Tran Dinh Vuong, a relative of fallen soldier Trinh Xuan Nguyen, emotionally said: “Thank you to the authorities at all levels, the Southern Representative Office of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Fallen Soldiers, and members of the Association for Supporting Families of Fallen Soldiers in various provinces for connecting and supporting the family in verifying information and completing procedures so that the family can have this day, welcoming the fallen soldier back to his hometown to conveniently care for his grave.”

Martyr Trinh Xuan Nguyen was brought back by his family for burial at the Martyrs' Cemetery in Bien Thuong commune, Thanh Hoa province. This is also the 16th case of a martyr whose remains were exhumed and brought back to his hometown by the Southern Representative Office of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs, in coordination with the Associations for Supporting Families of Martyrs in various provinces.
