It is expected that by 2030, Tien Giang will fill 100% of the industrial land area in 3 industrial parks: Long Giang, Binh Dong and Tan Phuoc 1. At the same time, the province continues to plan to develop 26 industrial parks, with a total area of 1,375 hectares, bringing the total number of industrial parks to 30 with a total area of 1,476 hectares. Currently, the province has 4 industrial parks with infrastructure investment (Trung An, Tan My Chanh, An Thanh, Gia Thuan 1), with a total area of 101.03 hectares.
With the focus on developing industrial infrastructure, in recent times, industrial zones and clusters in the province have attracted many investment projects, especially foreign investors. According to Deputy Director of the Department of Finance Nguyen Dinh Thong, in the period 2011 - 2025, the total social investment capital of Tien Giang province has grown significantly over the periods. From 96,134 billion VND in the period 2011 - 2015 to 157,682 billion VND in the period 2016 - 2020 and is expected to reach 233,793 billion VND in the period 2021 - 2025.
This reflects the strong development of the economy and the increased investment attraction in the province. The increase in investment capital in the period of 2016 - 2020 and the forecast in the period of 2021 - 2025 is mainly for large infrastructure projects (especially transport infrastructure, manufacturing and processing industry and logistics infrastructure).
This shows that Tien Giang province is focusing on creating a solid foundation to attract domestic and foreign investors; at the same time, creating momentum for sustainable industrial development. The strong growth of total social investment capital in the period of 2021 - 2025 reflects the future industrialization and modernization strategy, with large projects and industrial parks, export processing zones, and service industry development.
On the common journey to realize the goal of industrialization and modernization of the whole country, Tien Giang has achieved many important achievements. However, the road ahead for Tien Giang is still long. Because, in fact, the industrialization and modernization policy of Tien Giang has not stopped. Because the potentials and advantages of Tien Giang in the past have not been properly exploited, the space for economic development is still large, especially through the Planning of Tien Giang province approved by the Prime Minister.
