During the meeting, union members and youth heard him tell about the fierce and resilient battles when confronting American expeditionary soldiers, in which the first battle with the Americans took place at Trang Trai field on March 23, 1966.

In addition, union members and young people also had the opportunity to meet and talk with veteran Nguyen Van Nia (Ba Nia), currently residing in Phuoc Loi hamlet, Phuoc Vinh commune, who was in charge of raising the revolutionary flag at Phuoc Ninh sub-region, Phuoc Ninh district, Chau Thanh at 10:00 a.m. on April 30, 1975.

Not only telling stories about the process of fighting steadfastly in the face of danger, the two historical witnesses also shared about the vibrant spirit of the army and people during the days of liberating the South.

In his message to today's young generation, veteran Nguyen Van Nia emphasized: "The peace of our country must be paid for with the blood of countless people who have fallen. Today's youth must know how to appreciate the value of peace. In the context of a developing country and international integration, the youth must be proactive, constantly study, improve their capacity, and practice their mettle to complete assigned tasks."

Secretary of Phuoc Loc Hamlet Youth Union Nguyen Van Quy expressed: “Through the emotional stories of two historical witnesses, we have learned more about the history and great contributions of our ancestors in the cause of protecting the independence and freedom of the country. The young generation needs to make efforts to study, practice, and foster revolutionary ideals, arousing pride and responsibility in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.”
