Supporting students to start businesses right at school

(NLDO- National Innovation Center (NIC) and FPT University signed a cooperation agreement to support student startups right at school.

According to the agreement, the two sides will coordinate to implement a series of activities such as exchanging experts, organizing startup events, supporting business project development and calling for investment.

This cooperation aims to support students in developing business projects from ideas to practice, through activities such as: Organizing startup events, connecting experts, investors and providing intensive training.

Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the National Innovation Center, expressed his belief that the two sides will further promote innovation and start-up activities for students. Mr. Vu Quoc Huy assessed FPT University as a special school, formed from within the heart of businesses. This model demonstrates the close connection betweeneducation and practice, in line with the Party and State's policy on effective coordination between the three "houses": schools, businesses and managers.

Dr. Nguyen Khac Thanh, Principal of FPT University, FPT Corporation, emphasized that innovation and encouraging entrepreneurship are the guiding principles in all activities of the school.

"Cooperation with NIC opens up many opportunities for students from accessing a dynamic startup ecosystem to directly participating in influential innovation projects. With the support of NIC, FPT University will continue to nurture and develop young talents, contributing to building high-quality human resources for the country" - Dr. Nguyen Khac Thanh said.

FPT University is one of the schools that aims to develop entrepreneurial spirit in students from an early age. In 2023, the entrepreneurial program will be integrated into the official training framework with two compulsory courses "Entrepreneurial Experience 1 and 2" in the last three semesters.

Students with excellent startup projects are not only recognized to replace their graduation projects, but also receive financial support of up to 50 million VND/project from the school to implement. From 2024 to now, the school has supported more than 5 billion VND for 125 student startup project groups nationwide.

This model not only helps students practice based on practical experience but also inspires them to embark on a systematic, strategic and sponsored entrepreneurial journey.

The school also builds a startup ecosystem through competitions and creative playgrounds such as F-Shark, Student Showcase, FPT Edu Biz Talent... Here, students can present their ideas, debate before a panel of experts, raise capital and realize their products. On this journey, the school, lecturers, entrepreneurs and investors will accompany, advise and support from the idea generation, testing to commercialization. This helps students confidently start their own businesses because there is always a solid support ecosystem behind them.
