Continue to affirm that it is the main crop of Xuan Hoa

With 4,586 hectares of cinnamon, Xuan Hoa is the commune with the largest cinnamon growing area in Lao Cai province.

Implementing Resolution 10 dated August 26, 2021 of the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee (old) on the Strategy for developing agricultural commodities in Lao Cai province to 2030, with a vision to 2050, Xuan Hoa commune has chosen cinnamon as one of the three main crops. Currently, cinnamon trees cover the Xuan Hoa forest hills, not only bringing economic efficiency, but also contributing to increasing forest cover to 61.75%.

Cinnamon trees have affirmed their economic and social value, suitable for the soil, climate and farming practices of Xuan Hoa people, quickly developing into a raw material area, and at the same time forming an eco -tourism model associated with cinnamon trees.

On average, cinnamon trees bring in about 125 billion VND each year for Xuan Hoa. In the first 10 months of 2025 alone, Xuan Hoa people exploited more than 1,587 tons of cinnamon bark and 1,782 tons of cinnamon branches and leaves, with an estimated total revenue of more than 100 billion VND. The Party Congress of Xuan Hoa commune for the 2025 - 2030 term continues to affirm that cinnamon trees, along with banana trees and tea trees, are the three main crops of the commune, striving to develop 2 - 3 OCOP products from cinnamon and bananas. Cinnamon trees have been making important contributions to the agricultural restructuring of Xuan Hoa, from agricultural production to agricultural economy, contributing to increasing the production value per hectare of cultivated land in 2025 to an estimated more than 100 million VND, an increase of 20 million VND/ha compared to 2020.
