Turmeric is a versatile plant that helps people prevent many diseases. In turmeric, Curcumin is the most valuable nutrient, accounting for 99% of the value of turmeric, with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and cancer-preventing effects.

"Golden" land for turmeric

It is not by chance that Tuyen Quang turmeric starch is highly appreciated. This product is mainly extracted from fresh turmeric grown in the highlands of the province. According to experts, the special soil and climate conditions of the highlands of Tuyen Quang help turmeric accumulate active ingredients much better than turmeric grown in the plains. This gives turmeric the highest medicinal activity, optimizing its beneficial effects on human health.

As proof of this superior quality, the turmeric starch product here was assessed by the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene in 2019, with the result that the Curcumin content reached an impressive level of 57.2%.

Elaborate extraction process

To obtain pure turmeric starch, keeping the full Curcumin content and completely removing impurities, fibers and turmeric oil, the manufacturer must follow an extremely meticulous process. If in the past, the manual process required many steps (selecting turmeric roots, small dark yellow roots, peeling, grinding, filtering many times with gauze, letting it settle, decanting water, drying and then grinding finely), now the production process has been modernized to ensure quality and hygiene.

At modern facilities, turmeric is washed in a rotating drum (15-20 minutes) to remove sand and resin. Then, the turmeric is put into a continuous grinder to squeeze out the water and separate the residue (the residue is composted as fertilizer). The turmeric juice is transferred to large plastic barrels to settle (3-4 hours), then the clear water is decanted. The settled powder is mixed with water, waited for settling and filtered. This process is repeated about 15 times until there is no more red oil film on the surface of the barrel, the powder underneath is thick and golden yellow. The turmeric powder is then dried for 2-3 hours, broken into small pieces and continued to dry for another 2-3 hours. Finally, the product is put into a fan dryer at a stable temperature (below 38 degrees Celsius) for 6-8 hours. The finished product is evenly dried turmeric starch, natural yellow color, packaged in silver-coated packaging, can be preserved for 2-3 years.

An important point that consumers need to note is the difference between "turmeric starch" and "turmeric powder". Turmeric powder is simply dried and finely ground turmeric, the production process is not complicated, does not remove impurities, oil and fiber, and is often used as a spice in food. Meanwhile, turmeric starch (as described above) has completely removed impurities, only retaining Curcumin essence, so it is specialized for health care and beauty purposes.

Multipurpose uses of turmeric starch

Thanks to its high Curcumin content, yellow turmeric starch brings countless health benefits such as: Supporting digestion (improving stomach and duodenal problems); protecting the liver (helping detoxify the liver, promoting the formation of detoxifying enzymes, reducing hepatitis, cirrhosis and the risk of fatty liver); good for the heart (reducing cholesterol, preventing atherosclerosis, helping the heart stay healthy); supporting cancer treatment (many studies have shown that Curcumin inhibits the formation and development of malignant cells, preventing metastasis and reducing the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy); reducing arthritis (has anti-inflammatory effects, effectively reducing pain, swelling and stiffness of joints without causing side effects on the stomach); restoring health (helping heal wounds and surgical incisions, especially good for postpartum women); preventing Alzheimer's disease, controlling diabetes, enhancing immunity and supporting weight loss. In addition, turmeric starch also has skin care uses (prevents aging, moisturizes, treats acne, reduces wrinkles, fades scars and dark circles); treats melasma and dark spots (increases the elimination of pigmented cells, helps brighten skin); exfoliates (used as a whole body exfoliating mask); hair care (helps prevent hair loss and treat dandruff).
