| Representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment answered people's questions about vegetable and flower production. |
Tuyen Quang province has a large agricultural land area, diverse ecological zones from midlands to highland and rocky mountains, so it is diverse in terrain, land, climate and agricultural production resources. This is an opportunity to develop crops with competitive advantages such as medicinal plants, temperate fruit trees, vegetables and flowers. Particularly for vegetables and flowers, currently, the total annual vegetable and flower production area in the province is nearly 32,000 hectares, of which more than 30,000 hectares are vegetables, beans, and nearly 169 hectares of flowers. The province has also formed many vegetable and flower production areas that bring high economic value to the people such as: Dong Van, Quan Ba, Tung Vai, Pho Bang, Xin Man, Son Duong, Na Hang, Binh Ca, An Tuong...

Due to favorable climate and soil conditions and large market demand, in recent years, the province has implemented many typical programs and models for developing vegetables and flowers with high efficiency. Typical examples include the safe and organic vegetable production model in An Tuong ward with 18 hectares of clean vegetable cultivation, earning more than 50 million VND/ha/year; the safe vegetable growing model of Ninh Thai Cooperative, Thai Hoa commune; the vegetable and flower production model with over 150 hectares in Quan Ba commune... However, besides the advantages, vegetable and flower production in the province also faces some difficulties such as: Most of the vegetable and flower growing areas of the people are still fragmented and small; the chain linkage is still loose, products are mainly consumed through traders, there are no stable contracts; technical infrastructure is still weak, highland areas lack water, electricity, and transportation are difficult; farmers have little capital, and it is difficult to access preferential credit; weather and climate are complicated.
