Calculating and effectively exploiting 199 public lands

Mr. Huynh Trung Dung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Land Fund Development Center, said that by the end of July 2023, the Center managed 199 land plots with an area of 20,800 hectares. Of which, the most are in Bien Hoa City with 120 plots, Long Thanh District has 27 plots, Trang Bom District has 16 plots...

Regarding management, there are currently some land areas assigned to the Management Center but there are still disputes, encroachments or assets on the land. Many cases have expired land leases without renewal but are slow to hand over to the Center.

Currently, the effective exploitation of public land funds is still limited. Specifically, regarding land leasing, the Center is leasing and preparing procedures for short-term leasing of 40 land plots, but due to difficulties in unit prices, land rent has not been collected since 2020. Regarding land auctions, no land plots have been auctioned in the past 2 years and it is expected that 35 land plots will be auctioned from now until 2025.

Some of the current difficulties are that leasing land for annual terms is difficult to attract investors. Many lands, especially closed mineral mines, are dumping waste. The Center recommends that the province transfer some of the land to the locality to carry out public works to improve the efficiency of land management, and at the same time limit violations of encroachment and illegal dumping of waste.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi requested that the Provincial Land Fund Development Center strictly manage the assigned land plots. Effectively exploit the land plots by advising the province to assign the land plots that the locality needs to plan socio -economic development projects to the locality, lease short-term premises, and do a good job of land auctions to create revenue for the province and a source to maintain the Center's operations.
