As of April 30, 2025, the Vietnamese stock market has more than 9.88 million securities trading accounts, about to reach the 10 million account milestone. The number of newly opened securities accounts in April mainly came from individual investors with nearly 194,000 accounts. This is the highest number of new openings in the past 8 months.

The latest data from the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC) shows that in April, domestic investors opened 193,948 new.

As of the end of April 2025, the total number of securities accounts of domestic individual investors is 9,831,867 accounts.

If each person has a securities account, the above number is equivalent to 9.8 million people having a securities account, equivalent to 9.6% of the population having a securities account, completing the Government 's target before the 2025 deadline and gradually moving towards the number of 11 million accounts by 2030.

Although individual investor accounts still account for the majority, the number of newly registered institutional accounts also increased by 101, bringing the number of domestic institutional investor accounts to 18,129 units.

Meanwhile, the number of accounts of foreign investors decreased by 26 units to a total of 48,233 accounts as of the end of April 2025. Of which, the number of individual investor accounts was 43,552 accounts and the number of institutional investor accounts was 4,681 accounts.
