Overview of the largest international pickleball tournament in Vietnam

Nearly 50,000m2 out of the total area of 120,000m2 of City Park, The Global City, an international standard complex urban area project developed by Gold Sponsor - Masterise Homes, has become the event space that the media has evaluated as the most magnificent in the series of PPA Tour Asia stages.

The renovated stadium clusters ensure PPA's professional competition standards.

The cluster of 4 outdoor courts for Amateur events was renovated from old basketball courts.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Long, Pickleball Development Director - New Sports Joint Stock Company said, "New Sports and UPA Asia quickly planned and implemented within 02 months, then together with the team of workers worked continuously for 10 days to renovate 2 basketball courts, 1 tennis court and completely build a new pickleball court cluster." He also said that all 15 competition courts, including the court for Amateur content, meet Pro standards, bringing an absolutely professional experience to all athletes, in accordance with PPA's criteria, "Play where the Pros play".

The five-court complex, including the Grand Court, is used for both Pro and Amateur events.

As a co-organizer in Vietnam, New Sports is an important factor in realizing the goal of bringing Vietnamese pickleball to the international level. Established in 2022 with the goal of developing sports from grassroots to professional, New Sports has been creating solid foundations for the community, helping Vietnamese athletes have the opportunity to connect, develop and access international competition environments. To Duy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Sports Joint Stock Company, said at the press conference: "With the mission of professionalizing and elevating the level of Vietnamese sports, New Sports Joint Stock Company has decided to cooperate with PPA and UPA to organize MB Vietnam Open 2025 - the first event of PPA hosted in Vietnam."

After Trinh Linh Giang's surprising victory in the Malaysian leg, Vietnam was put on the international Pickleball map, attracting the attention of audiences from everywhere. The PPA Asia Pickleball Tournament - MB Vietnam Open 2025 once again demonstrated the remarkable development of this sport in Vietnam when 4 representatives of Vietnam entered the Men's Singles Semi-finals including Phuc Huynh, Ly Hoang Nam, Trinh Linh Giang and Truong Vinh Hien, with the championship title belonging to Phuc Huynh. In the Amateur category, Le Xuan Duc lifted the U18 Men's Doubles championship trophy for the third time with Tong Nhat Minh at PPA Tour Asia.

The tournament’s appeal was evident right from the ticket sales stage, when all VIP tickets for the last two days were sold out within just 2 hours of going on sale, and all remaining tickets were also sold out on the first day of competition. The stands in the central stadium, where the key matches took place, were completely packed for all matches from the Quarterfinals to the Finals.

The central stadium with a capacity of more than 500 spectators was sold out for all 4 days of competition.

The support of Vietnamese audiences promises the return of PPA Tour in the future. Ms. Kimberly Koh – Managing Director of UPA Asia – affirmed: “MB Vietnam Open is a big step forward for Pickleball in Vietnam. Together with MB Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank and New Sports, we are opening a path for professionalization for Vietnamese athletes and inspiring the next generation.”
