TPO - The female teacher who asked parents for money to buy a laptop claims that she was sued by the parents for not accepting the laptop. If she had agreed to accept the computer, everything would have been quiet.
Ask for money to buy a computer because of thinking about socializingeducation
On the morning of September 30, teacher Truong Phuong Hanh (homeroom teacher of class 4/3, Chuong Duong Primary School, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) - the person who was reported to have asked parents for money to buy a computer - spoke with Tien Phong newspaper reporters about related issues.
Ms. Hanh said she lost her computer at school during the 2022-2023 school year. At this time, several other teachers also lost their property at school. This school year, class 4/3 is equipped with a television, so she wants a new computer to prepare lessons and connect to the television for teaching.

“I did not ask the principal for permission from the beginning because I thought that asking to buy a laptop was a normal thing, in line with the policy of socializing education, the government and the people doing it together. Many people do the same. I do not equalize but rely on the voluntary spirit of parents. If there is no computer, leaving the TV idle would be a waste,” Ms. Hanh said.
The female teacher added that when the principal learned about the incident, he instructed her not to accept support money from parents. On September 16, Ms. Hanh created a poll in the class group (agreeing and disagreeing to support money to buy computers for teachers).
There was direction from the board of directors, why didn't she refuse immediately but had to create a vote?
Answering the reporter's question, Ms. Hanh explained: "All parents agreed to support the money to buy laptops in the previous parent meeting, so I had no reason to refuse. I created a vote to have a reason to refuse because if someone complained to the school, there would be people who disagreed."
The female teacher said she was sued by the parents because she did not accept the computer. "If I had agreed to accept it, everything would not have been so noisy," Ms. Hanh explained.
After 3 parents expressed their disagreement, the teacher asked: "Which child's parent?". Explaining the issue, Ms. Hanh said that there were 38 parents in the class but the group had 47 people so the teacher "didn't know who was who".
“I just want to ask who this parent is so I can find out. Many people think I am angry, but I am not angry with the parents. I still love and teach the children normally,” Ms. Hanh said.
Regarding the content of not preparing the outline, teacher Hanh said that this is not the teacher's responsibility and she is not angry with the parents after the incident of not supporting the money to buy the computer.
Selling food in class
Parents of class 4/3 also complained that Ms. Hanh sold instant noodles, sausages, and mixed rice paper to students. Students who did not buy her food would have to eat outside the classroom door.
Ms. Hanh denied the information that she let the students stand outside and added: "I live far from the school so I brought food to class. The students said they were hungry so I sold it to them. Students who bought food elsewhere were still allowed to sit in class and eat normally."

The female teacher also said that she had been tutoring students since September 9 but had stopped last week. “I was wrong for not understanding the circular on socialization and I hope the matter will be resolved soon,” Ms. Hanh shared.
Ms. Hanh has 30 years of experience in education and 18 years of teaching at Chuong Duong Primary School.
