Summary of 5 years of implementing the new rural program in the field of education and training

In order to summarize and evaluate the results of the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the 2021-2025 period, the Ministry of Education and Training organized a conference to summarize the contents of education and training under the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the 2021-2025 period; orientation for the 2026-2030 period.

There is also a workshop to assess the implementation of education and training indicators in the National Criteria for New Rural Areas at all levels for the 2021-2025 period, and propose a proposal for the 2026-2030 period.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Tan Dung chaired the conference.

In addition to representatives of units under the Ministry of Education and Training, there were also representatives of ministries and central agencies: Government Office , Committee on Culture and Society (National Assembly), Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Ministry of Finance; representatives of People's Committees of provinces/cities, representatives of units participating in the implementation of the Program including Department of Education and Training, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Finance.

The national target program on new rural construction for the 2021-2025 period is one of the key programs of the Government, aiming to promote socio-economic development in rural areas.

The Education sector plays an important role in improving the quality of human resources, contributing to achieving the new rural criteria, especially criterion number 5 - Proportion of schools at all levels (preschool, primary, secondary; or general schools with many levels of education with the highest level being secondary school and criterion number 14.1 - Universalizing preschool education for 5-year-old children; universalizing primary education; universalizing lower secondary education; eliminating illiteracy.

The national target program on new rural construction for the 2021-2025 period identifies the following goals: By 2025, 90% of communes will meet criterion No. 14 on education and training under the National Criteria for New Rural Communes; 60% of communes will meet criterion No. 5 on education under the National Criteria for Advanced New Rural Communes;

In addition, at least 60% of districts meet criterion No. 5 on health - culture - education under the National Criteria for New Rural Districts; 25% of districts meet criterion No. 5 on health - culture - education under the National Criteria for Advanced New Rural Districts.

Continue to improve the quality of vocational training for rural workers, linked to market needs; support the promotion and development of start-up and innovation models in rural areas.
