This is not only an investment in facilities, but also a trust and hope for teachers and students in the "fence" of the Fatherland, creating a strong shift in the quality of education .
Quang Tri province is preparing the necessary conditions to simultaneously start construction of four inter-level boarding schools, opening a phase of large-scale investment according to the Politburo 's direction in border communes.
Students have the opportunity to study in a modern school.
One of the four key projects is Dakrong Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Dakrong commune, Quang Tri province), with a total investment of more than 220 billion VND.
The project is built on the basis of renovating and upgrading Pa Nang Primary School and the surrounding area, with a scale of about 6.46 hectares.
Main items include: head office area, library, classrooms, student dormitory, multi-purpose hall, kitchen and experimental garden.

According to a survey by the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province, the learning needs at this inter-level school are estimated at more than 1,000 students, with a scale of 36 classes (24 primary school classes and 12 secondary school classes).
The school is expected to receive students from Pa Nang Primary School, Pa Nang Secondary School and some neighboring areas with boarding needs.
Mr. Hoang Linh - Vice Principal of Pa Nang Primary School, said: The whole school currently has a central campus in Ra Lay village, with more than 180 students, and 3 other campuses in Da Ban, Sa Tram, and Ra Poong villages - all of which are far away and difficult to access. The students are mainly children of the Van Kieu ethnic group.
“Building boarding schools provides a better learning environment and better living conditions. This is a major policy of the Party and State, helping students develop comprehensively,” said Mr. Hoang Linh.
Chairman of Dakrong Commune People's Committee - Mr. Le Hoai Phong commented that this is a project of special importance to the cause of educational development in the locality.
According to Mr. Le Hoai Phong, Dakrong is a mountainous commune with many difficulties, people's lives depend on agricultural and forestry production. Children's learning conditions are still limited, so investing in boarding schools will create opportunities for ethnic children to study and practice in a spacious environment, ensuring all essential conditions.
Mr. Le Hoai Phong affirmed: "The project not only demonstrates the concern of the Party, State and Quang Tri province for the disadvantaged area but is also a great source of encouragement for the local government and people in the journey of escaping poverty and sustainable development."
Dakrong Commune commits to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training and related units during the implementation process. At the same time, it will step up propaganda to gain people's consensus and prepare to send their children to school after the school is completed.
Promote comprehensive educational development
Not only Dakrong commune, other border localities of Quang Tri are also urgently preparing to invest in inter-level boarding schools. In Huong Phung commune, the Education sector proposed to build Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School, with a land area of about 100,000m2.
The scale of the school in phase 1 is 40 classes, nearly 1,570 students (22 primary classes and 18 secondary classes). The total estimated investment is 360 billion VND.

The school will mobilize students from 4 existing schools in the area, including Huong Phung Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Huong Phung Primary School, Huong Son Primary - Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Huong Linh Primary - Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ty - Principal of Huong Phung Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, shared: "When there is an inter-level boarding school, students can study in a concentrated environment, with full facilities, playgrounds and classrooms that are invested in standards. Improved care and accommodation conditions help students feel secure in their studies."
Mr. Pham Huy Van - Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Phung commune said that the inter-level boarding school model will help reduce the burden on parents, while creating conditions for students to develop both physically and mentally.
In Thuong Trach commune, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuong - Principal of Thuong Trach Primary School No. 1 said that the school currently has 5 separate locations, including locations in Con Roang and Ban villages, which are more than 10 km away.
Although the facilities have been gradually improved, many classrooms are still semi-permanent or temporary. Over the years, teachers have actively stayed in the villages and classes to maintain learning for students.
According to the plan, Thuong Trach Primary and Secondary Boarding School will be newly built with 30 classes and more than 950 students. The school will be built on an area of 60,000m2; the total investment is about more than 195 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuong shared: “The boarding school will help students from remote villages have a stable place to live and study. Modern facilities create conditions for them to feel secure when going to school and develop more comprehensively.”
Strategic vision to improve the quality of education in border areas
Dr. Le Thi Huong - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Campaign to build schools in border communes, affirmed that boarding school projects are particularly important projects, demonstrating the strategic vision and deep concern of the Party, State, and province for education in ethnic minority areas in mountainous and border areas.

The leader of the Department of Education and Training emphasized: “The policy of building boarding schools at the border demonstrates a profound humanitarian spirit, not leaving any student behind. This is not only an investment program in educational infrastructure, but also a social policy of outstanding significance.”
Modernly invested inter-level boarding schools will create an environment to help students acquire knowledge, harmoniously combining theory and practice; promoting individual abilities and strengths; preserving and promoting the unique culture of ethnic minorities.
At the same time, the project is also a symbol of the affection and responsibility of the Party and State for the people in the "fence" areas of the Fatherland.
Dr. Le Thi Huong said: "The schools that have been started are a concrete step in the aspiration to improve people's knowledge, train human resources, foster talents, and build a fair, comprehensive, and modern education system."
The construction of inter-level boarding schools in the border communes of Quang Tri is an important foundation to improve the quality of education and create a modern learning environment for students in disadvantaged areas.
In the near future, when these schools are completed, thousands of students in border areas will have more comprehensive development conditions, opening up a new journey to contribute to building a strong homeland.
