Iz.ru quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying on June 15 that Russian President Vladimir Putin sent birthday greetings to President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the Chinese leader's 72nd birthday.
"President Putin wishes Chinese President Xi Jinping all the best," Peskov said.
In May 2025, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Russia to attend the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II (May 9).
RT reported that the two Russian and Chinese leaders had official talks at the Kremlin on May 8. The talks lasted more than 3 and a half hours and the two sides signed a number of joint agreements.

On May 27, during talks with Mr. Tran Van Thanh, head of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of China, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu said that President Putin will visit China in September to attend events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japanese fascism in World War II.
"Russian President Putin will visit China in September," Shoigu said.
It is known that every September 3, China officially celebrates the day of defeating Japanese fascism, marking the end of World War II in Asia.
