Ho Chi Minh City wants to cooperate with France on AI, fintech and green technology

On May 27, La French Tech Vietnam organized the French Tech Summit in Vietnam 2025 - French Tech Summit Vietnam 2025.

The conference brought together more than 1,000 delegates, including policy makers, business leaders, investors, startups and technology experts from France and Vietnam.

The event took place on the occasion of French President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, emphasized that France is the first country in the European Union to establish a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam from October 2024.

On the basis of good bilateral relations, Ho Chi Minh City is proud to be one of the leading localities in Vietnam in promoting cooperative relations with France.

In 2024, the trade turnover between Ho Chi Minh City and France will reach more than 951 million USD. As of April 2025, France has 361 investment projects in the city with a total registered capital of nearly 330 million USD, ranking 17th out of more than 120 countries and territories investing in the city.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung assessed that this French technology event is an opportunity for the two sides to cooperate in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), green technology, biotechnology, financial technology... to jointly create breakthrough solutions for a comprehensive digital future.

"Through the event, Ho Chi Minh City hopes to learn from France's experience in building an open legal foundation, flexible institutions, financial mechanisms to encourage innovation, and an effective public-private partnership network.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation with France to develop the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Creative Entrepreneurship and similar models, thereby effectively connecting scientific and technological research and commercialization; promoting links between institutes, schools and businesses on both sides" - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung shared.

Ho Chi Minh City also expressed its desire to effectively utilize support mechanisms from France such as the FASEP fund and the Expertise France program, as well as calling for the participation of the AVSE Global expert community in the city's digital transformation process.

In particular, Ho Chi Minh City pledges to continue to improve policies and create the most favorable and transparent investment and business conditions to attract international investors and talents, including those from France, to the city.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung respectfully invited international partners to attend the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum in November this year, with the theme "AI - From Technology to Practice", to continue dialogue and promote deeper cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City.
