With the slogan “Vietnamese Cinema - Sustainable Development and International Integration in the New Era”, the 24th Film Festival affirms the beginning of a new development phase, where Vietnam aims for deep integration, strong and sustainable development, and at the same time enhances its position in the international arena.

This is also an opportunity to honor Vietnamese cinematographic works imbued with national identity, rich in humanity and creativity, and to honor artists with outstanding contributions since the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, Head of the Film Festival Steering Committee, spoke at the press conference.

The organizing committee said that this year's Film Festival attracted more than 800 guests, including many artists, producers, distributors, film distributors, film organizations, film and media companies with competing films and films screened at the Festival, along with many international delegates and diplomatic representatives.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, Head of the Film Festival Steering Committee, emphasized: “In the context of the strong development of the Vietnamese film industry, the strategy for developing Vietnam's cultural industries to 2030, with a vision to 2045, recently approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 2486/QD-TTg dated November 14, 2025, is of great significance, with specific targets for each stage.

This year’s film festival has many rich activities: Exhibition programs, film screenings, exchanges between artists and audiences, specialized seminars and initiatives applying technology in film production, promotion and distribution. We pay special attention to honoring Vietnamese identity in cinema and creating conditions for international film crews to cooperate, improve production quality and expand international markets.

Comrade Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Co-Head of the Film Festival Steering Committee, expressed her honor to coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Cinema to host the 24th Film Festival, the country's leading prestigious film event.  

The 24th Vietnam Film Festival in Ho Chi Minh City will take place from November 21 to 25. The festival will screen 30 feature films, 120 documentaries, 21 scientific films and 32 animated films, representing the creative and diverse spirit of Vietnamese cinema. The organizers said they will give away 1,500 free invitations to Ho Chi Minh City audiences to attend the opening ceremony.
