On the morning of November 4, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc led the field inspection delegation of key medical construction projects and the investment project to build the City Planning Exhibition Center.
The Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Ho Chi Minh City (Management Board) reported the progress, disbursement plan... of the projects to build new General Hospitals in Hoc Mon, Cu Chi and Thu Duc areas.
Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc said that protecting and taking care of people's health is extremely important, the city and the Central Government have devoted large resources to 3 hospitals in this gateway area. The 3 hospitals not only play a role in taking care of the health of the city's people but also of the surrounding areas.
According to Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc, the project to build a new Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital has the characteristics of both construction and ensuring medical examination and treatment, thus somewhat affecting the implementation progress. However, with the determination and coordination of all parties, the construction progress has basically met the requirements and the Management Board is also planning to speed up the progress.
In parallel, two other gateway hospitals, Cu Chi Regional General Hospital and Thu Duc Regional General Hospital, are also on their way to completion. According to the plan, all three hospitals will be put into use in 2024.
“There is an important issue that needs to be addressed: the three equipment packages for these three hospitals must ensure consistency and modernity to serve the people. The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has directed departments and branches that when the hospital is completed, the equipment must also be ready for use,” the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee informed.

At the investment project to build the City Planning Exhibition Center (An Khanh Ward, Thu Duc City) , according to Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc, this is a project that should have been completed 5-6 years ago. However, there are problems with the contractor's capacity as well as many related issues, leading to failure to ensure the commitment when winning the bid on the quality of materials.
Recently, the city has decided to change the investor, assigning the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works to be the direct investor. The board is currently working hard to implement on schedule, and is expected to restart the project in early 2024 and complete it within the next 6 months.
Previously, SGGP Newspaper also had a piece of information reflecting the sluggish situation of key medical projects at regional general hospitals, Tan Kien medical cluster and hospitals in the city. The information attracted the attention of public opinion and functional sectors. Up to now, many projects have been urged and implemented quickly, serving the health care needs of the people.
