On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of national reunification, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts is experimenting with digitizing two galleries of National Treasures: Trung Nam Bac Spring Garden by painter Nguyen Gia Tri and Thanh Nien Thanh Dong by painter Nguyen Sang.
These two national treasures made of lacquer are vividly recreated through virtual reality (VR) technology and AI animation, creating a new and impressive experience for the public.
Cherish the memories, look to the future
As one of the first people to see national treasures using virtual reality (VR) technology at the museum, Tuong Vy (a student at Can Tho University) shared that she really enjoyed the experience of enjoying paintings in a digital space, it felt very modern and interesting.
However, you also like to see paintings with your own eyes and spent the morning exploring the Museum of Fine Arts with your sister.
Traveling from Can Tho to Ho Chi Minh City to watch the big activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification, Tuong Vy was very happy to visit the museum for the first time to learn more interesting knowledge and enjoy beautiful works.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, in the current technological era, digital transformation is an inevitable trend. Particularly in the museum sector, digitizing artifacts and gradually converting to digital is considered an important step forward to both preserve and conserve heritage and bring new experiences in displaying works.
The two national treasures , Trung Nam Bac Spring Garden and Thanh Nien Thanh Dong, are lacquer works containing high artistic and creative values, and are also the pride of modern Vietnamese fine arts.
By digitizing the national treasure gallery using virtual reality (VR) technology and AI animation, the museum wants to bring the public a new experience when admiring masterpieces of fine art that preserve the mark of the times.
This digital space is also expected to expand accessibility, stimulate imagination, and contribute to enriching the spiritual life of the community, in line with the civilized, modern, and affectionate spirit of Ho Chi Minh City.
Recognized as a National Treasure in 2013, “Spring Garden of Central, South and North” by famous painter Nguyen Gia Tri is an outstanding lacquer masterpiece of Vietnam, and also a prayer for unity and happiness for the homeland.
At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts also launched the publication "50 years - memories of resistance art", expressing an artistic perspective on an unforgettable historical journey.
During the fierce war, besides the soldiers on the front lines, there was a class of artists who quietly contributed to the resistance cause with their artistic creativity.
They brought their easels and paint brushes, lived and created right in the middle of the war zone, recording the reality of war and resistance life in a realistic and touching way.
The book introduces the names and contributions of 50 authors whose documents and works are being preserved in the museum's collection, and is also an opportunity to look back at an important period of modern Vietnamese fine arts in social life.
