Experience the traditional Tet atmosphere at Duong Lam Ancient Village

NDO - From January 18 to February 16, 2025 (ie from December 19, Giap Thin year to January 19, At Ty year), at Duong Lam ancient village, Son Tay town ( Hanoi ), the program "Vietnamese village Tet" will take place, promising to bring visitors interesting experiences about the traditional Tet atmosphere.

This is the fourth year Son Tay town has organized the Vietnamese Village Tet program to promote the cultural values of Son Tay - Xu Doai in particular and Vietnamese national traditions in general.

The program "Vietnamese Village Tet" is jointly implemented by the Department of Culture and Information of the town, the Management Board of Duong Lam Ancient Village Relics, Duong Lam Commune and other departments, agencies and functional sectors, bringing visitors attractive, interesting and engaging experiences.

Secretary of the Duong Lam Commune Party Committee Nguyen Dang Thao said that in order to promote the values of relics and heritages in the area and stimulate tourism , on each occasion of the traditional New Year of the nation, Son Tay town and the locality organize the Vietnamese Village Tet program. This is an activity to preserve traditional cultural beauty for future generations and promote national cultural values to international friends. Through the Vietnamese Village Tet program, it contributes to promoting and introducing Duong Lam Ancient Village tourism , local specialties, and tourist destinations to people and tourists, especially foreigners living in Vietnam and overseas Vietnamese.

The program has many attractive contents, such as: introducing the traditional Tet market space at Mong Phu communal house yard, Duong Lam commune, with booths introducing local specialties, handicrafts, and craft villages; space to experience traditional Tet culture with art performances, traditional musical instruments, Ao Dai performances, calligraphy writing, etc.

Visitors will also experience making flute kites, molding clay figurines, taking care of narcissus flowers, souvenirs... and experience making local specialties by making their own banh chung, banh te, peanut candy, and dou candy...

In addition, visitors will be introduced to traditional customs during Tet, visit ancient houses, enjoy traditional dishes during Tet of Duong Lam people, such as Chung cake, Mia chicken, roasted pork, sweet soup...

At the communal house area and the Mong Phu village gate, there is an area to introduce folk games such as cockfighting, blindfolded pot-breaking, hopscotch, kite-catching, catching loach in a jar, wrestling, shuttlecock kicking, human chess...; performing spaces for singing Van, Xam singing, Cheo singing, festival drums...
