After the merger, with its combined stature and potential, Lao Cai is "rolling out the red carpet" to welcome investors not only with words, but also with commitments and drastic actions, creating a truly transparent, favorable and effective investment and business environment.

In the first half of 2025 alone, Lao Cai attracted 36 investment projects, with a total registered capital of nearly 12,000 billion VND. This capital flow focused on the province's pillar sectors such as tourism , trade, industry and construction. This is a very impressive figure, clearly reflecting the province's continuous efforts in improving the business investment environment and strengthening investors' confidence.

A typical example is the strong presence of Alphanam Group - one of the largest investors in Lao Cai in recent years. Currently, the Group is urgently implementing 5 projects with a total investment of nearly 44,000 billion VND. In particular, the project of the Southern Commercial Service Urban Area of ​​Thac Ba Lake with an investment capital of 15,000 billion VND is expected to create a strong "push" for the province's high-end resort tourism. The trust of a large private economic group like Alphanam does not come by chance.

Mr. Bui Anh Chien - Deputy General Director of the Group, shared: "Government at all levels, departments, branches and sectors have joined hands, proactively resolved legal procedures as quickly as possible so that investors and businesses can feel secure in their investments."

Not only large domestic corporations, Lao Cai’s potential also attracts businesses in the technology and logistics sectors. With the advantage of a “gateway”, border trade is becoming a “promised land” for many businesses. Realizing the opportunity from Lao Cai’s establishment of a cross-border economic cooperation zone, Viettel Post has pioneered investment in cross-border e-commerce.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuc Truong, Director of Viettel Lao Cai Postal Branch, the active support from the province in improving traffic infrastructure, reducing logistics costs and implementing smart border gates is a key factor for businesses to boldly invest.

The trust and large investment flows are the result of a thorough preparation process with innovative leadership thinking. The province's position has now been raised to a new level: the center of the Northwest and Northeast regions, a strategic intersection in both vertical and horizontal connections. A new, innovative and highly connected development space is being shaped, with a clear, interconnected structure: One dynamic axis, two development poles, three economic regions and four development pillars.

Assessing this potential, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) affirmed: "Lao Cai is a province with a very important position, not only developing industry and services to serve domestic needs, Lao Cai enterprises have many conditions to become a growth pole, a center of connection and international economic trade."

Understanding the core role of the private economic sector as a decisive factor in unlocking resources, just under a month after the merger, Lao Cai province organized a large-scale meeting, attracting more than 200 businesses and investors. Here, a strong commitment was made.

Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Trinh Xuan Truong emphasized that Lao Cai will not follow the old management mindset, but must switch to a development-creating mindset. That commitment is concretized in the spirit of "5 no's": No delays, no trouble, no harassment; no barriers; no shirking of responsibility, no evasion and no inequality among businesses. This spirit breaks down all barriers, creating a fair and transparent playing field, where all businesses, from FDI to domestic businesses, from businesses in the association to those outside the association, are treated equally and given the best conditions for development.

Mr. Do Xuan Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Lao Cai province said: "The province focuses on forming and expanding industrial zones and clusters, promoting high-tech production and processing; developing the Border Gate Economic Zone to become a center for economic trade connection; developing smart tourism, enhancing tourism products in Sa Pa, Mu Cang Chai, Nghia Lo, Thac Ba, Bac Ha tourist areas...".
