Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Education Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet emphasized: In recent years, the Party and the State have issued many policies to support and provide incentives for generations of athletes and coaches, aiming to encourage, develop their abilities, and contribute to the national sports cause.

In particular, support, training, and career transition for athletes after their peak competitive years have always been a priority. This was also one of the topics discussed at the seventh session of the 15th National Assembly .

The sports sector has recently been actively seeking partners to provide scholarships and create job opportunities for athletes. Notable examples include cooperation agreements with the University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi),FPT University, and Dai Nam University, aimed at training bachelor's and master's degree holders, especially high-achieving athletes.

However, Mr. Viet also frankly acknowledged that training, career guidance, and vocational retraining still face many difficulties, mainly because the educational level of many athletes does not meet the requirements of most professions in society.

Therefore, this workshop is organized to provide information, knowledge, and entrepreneurial skills, helping athletes to be confident and creative in proactively seeking or creating their own jobs after ending their peak competitive careers.

At the same time, this is also an opportunity for them to introduce their ideas and projects to investors, opening up new avenues and job opportunities for themselves. "I hope that after the workshop, the athletes will accumulate more useful knowledge and confidently seek suitable careers to continue developing after they are no longer competing," Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet expressed.

Mr. Tran Anh Cuong – Chairman of Vietnam Interior – shared about the three important stages that athletes need to go through after retirement.

Notably, Mr. Tran Anh Cuong – Chairman of Vietnam Interior – shared about three important stages that athletes need to go through after retirement: understanding themselves, exploring their career path, and building a transition roadmap.

Answering athletes' questions about their income after leaving the arena, Mr. Cuong said that it could come from learning a new profession, building a personal brand for advertising and speaking engagements; or from small investments that gradually generate stable profits.

In addition, athletes can also tap into their potential by writing books, creating and sharing content, or participating in consulting and coaching work. From these suggestions, each athlete can build a suitable and solid path for their future.

Mr. Tran Viet Sang – Training Manager of California Fitness and Yoga Vietnam – continues to provide career guidance and opportunities to explore new income streams, helping athletes proactively seek development paths after their competitive careers.

In particular, Vice President of the Vietnam Kickboxing Federation, Le Thi Nga, shared a wealth of knowledge on developing soft skills, helping athletes confidently build a new image outside of the sports arena.

She frankly pointed out that many Vietnamese athletes, despite their bravery on the competition floor, are quite shy in everyday communication. “You have worn the national colors and brought glory to the country. Therefore, when you enter life, be confident and apply the professionalism and discipline you gained from training and competition to be ready for your new job,” Ms. Le Thi Nga emphasized.

She also believes that soft skills are the key to success. Athletes need to change their mindset, set big ambitions, and gradually transform from their image as athletes to new roles in society. "When you step away from your athlete's uniform, you need to equip yourself with effective communication skills, flexible thinking, self-confidence, and the ability to build an image suitable for your new job," she said.

The workshop was considered an important first step, helping Vietnamese athletes proactively prepare for the future, readily integrate into the labor market, and continue to contribute to the community even after they are no longer competing.
