At the program, officers and soldiers of the Song Trang Border Guard and members of the volunteer group presented 150 gifts (including essential necessities) to disadvantaged households in the area, with a total value of 50 million VND. Although the gifts were not large in material value, they contained the sentiment of sharing, the spirit of “helping each other” and the responsibility of officers and soldiers of the unit and the kind hearts towards the people of the border.
In addition, the program also handed over a charity house to the family of Mr. Vo Van Hoa (born in 1971, Song Trang hamlet, Hung Dien commune) - a family in especially difficult circumstances.
The house has an area of 50m², including 1 living room, 1 bedroom and auxiliary works; the total construction cost is 150 million VND, supported by the volunteer group "Connecting Love" (HCMC).
During the construction process, officers and soldiers of the Song Trang Border Guard and local people actively contributed labor and materials. Mr. Vo Van Hoa shared: “The new house not only helps the family have a stable place to live, but also gives the family more confidence and determination to work and produce with peace of mind, and escape poverty.”
According to Lieutenant Colonel Bui Ngoc Thiep - Political Commissar of Song Trang Border Guard, the gift-giving and charity house-handing activities not only have profound humanitarian significance, providing practical support to households in difficult circumstances, strengthening military-civilian solidarity, consolidating the solid people's heart position, but also contribute to the Party and State in implementing the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025"./.
