Effective implementation of digital transformation in new rural construction

BAC NINH – On the morning of September 19, the Institute for Cooperative Economic Development (Vietnam Cooperative Alliance) coordinated with the Bac Ninh Provincial Cooperative Alliance to organize a conference on the effective implementation of the digital transformation program in new rural construction, towards smart new rural areas in the period of 2021-2025. Attending were representatives of the leaders of the Institute for Cooperative Economic Development, relevant departments and branches of Bac Ninh province and cooperatives in the province.

The digital transformation program in new rural construction, towards smart new rural areas in the period of 2021-2025 was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 924/2022 with 3 main pillars: Developing digital government, digital economic entities, digital society for rural communities. In Bac Ninh, with the active implementation of the Program, for many consecutive years, the province has always maintained its position in the top 10 leading provinces and cities nationwide in terms of Provincial Digital Transformation Index (DTI).

Outstanding results in investing in synchronous digital infrastructure, fiber optic coverage, 4G network, bringing OCOP products to e-commerce platforms, activities of community digital technology groups, promoting online public services, etc. help localities build new rural areas, towards smart new rural areas in the 2021-2025 period.

Among the subjects of new rural construction, the collective economic sector with about 2,000 cooperatives also pays great attention to digital transformation. Cooperatives are implementing projects to develop models applying 4.0 technology; supporting the improvement of management capacity and efficiency of accounting and auditing activities; developing cooperative models for raising grass-fed livestock in the direction of value chains; building software (App) to serve the management and operation of production and business activities of cooperatives; training and fostering the application of artificial intelligence (AI);...

At the same time, delegates focused on exchanging, discussing, and analyzing difficulties, shortcomings, opportunities and challenges when implementing digital transformation, thereby proposing solutions to promote digital transformation in building new rural areas and smart new rural areas in localities.

Through the conference, delegates raised awareness of the nature and importance of digital transformation in building new rural areas, towards smart new rural areas at the current stage; promoting the role of the political system, sectors, levels, especially the central role of people participating in implementing digital transformation.
