The Trung Son and Hung Loi resettlement areas are planned on an area of over 60.7 hectares, with a total compensation and resettlement cost of over 161 billion VND. To date, the main components of the project have been basically completed. Households subject to land clearance have been fully allocated resettlement land in accordance with regulations.

As one of the first households to hand over their land, Mr. Ly Van Hong, from Dong Trang village, Hung Loi commune (Tuyen Quang province), had over 200 square meters of land confiscated. Mr. Hong shared that since the government initiated the construction of the Ho Chi Minh Highway section from Trung Son Junction to Cho Chu Market, his family has always complied and supported the project. To facilitate construction, his family agreed to hand over their entire house and assets attached to the land on time. They also received full resettlement land and compensation, and are now just waiting for the resettlement area infrastructure to be completed before building a new house.

Similarly, Mr. Mong Van Dat from Le village, Hung Loi commune, said that his family was allocated land in the new resettlement area right in the center of the commune. The construction of this road is essential, facilitating transportation and promoting local socio -economic development. Although relocation significantly impacts their lives, his family handed over the land on time for the common good. Now, everyone hopes the resettlement area will be completed soon so they can move to their new homes and stabilize their lives.

The Ho Chi Minh Highway construction project, specifically the Cho Chu - Trung Son Junction section, has a total length of nearly 29 km and is one of the key transportation projects. Of this, the section passing through Tuyen Quang province, specifically in Trung Son and Hung Loi communes (formerly Yen Son district), is over 17 km long, with a total budget of over 161 billion VND for the compensation, support, and resettlement sub-project. 397 households in the two communes are subject to relocation.

Mr. Ban Van Than, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Loi commune, said that 280 households in the locality were affected by the project, and the commune government had coordinated with relevant units to propagate and mobilize people to hand over the land to the construction unit. Currently, the units are focusing on building and completing the infrastructure of the resettlement area. The people are very happy to be resettled near the commune center, convenient for daily life and long-term economic development.

Present at the project site these days, it's easy to see the bustling atmosphere of work at the resettlement area. Construction units are concentrating manpower, machinery, and equipment to complete the project's components. Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh - Bao Trung Tuyen Quang Co., Ltd., supervising the Hung Loi Resettlement Project, said that the unit is coordinating with the construction team to accelerate progress, increasing shifts and working hours to compensate for downtime due to weather. However, the principle is not to compromise the quality of the construction for the sake of speed.

Although land clearance has been largely completed, the construction progress of the initial resettlement infrastructure is slow due to obstacles in the project planning, appraisal, approval, and site leveling processes. In addition, the complex hilly terrain and the location of waste disposal sites also pose significant challenges to construction.

Mr. Dinh Xuan Tien, the site manager of Thinh Hung Co., Ltd. – the contractor for the Trung Son resettlement area – said that land clearance is almost complete, and the weather is favorable for construction units. However, the biggest obstacle currently is the arrangement of a waste disposal site. We hope that relevant authorities and departments will support and coordinate the waste disposal site to ensure the project progresses on schedule.

Faced with these difficulties, to meet the project's construction schedule, Tuyen Quang province is implementing a comprehensive set of solutions; focusing on resolving procedural obstacles, arranging waste disposal sites, and urging contractors to increase manpower and construction equipment. The province also requested the Ho Chi Minh Highway Project Management Board to continue coordinating closely with relevant agencies and units to definitively resolve outstanding issues and accelerate construction progress along the entire route.

In addition, the province directed relevant departments and agencies to promptly consider and address local requests for upgrading transportation infrastructure and drainage systems, ensuring synchronization with the Ho Chi Minh Highway, contributing to ensuring public safety and promoting sustainable socio-economic development. Construction units mobilized maximum manpower and machinery to accelerate construction progress; at the same time, they strictly implemented regulations on traffic safety and environmental sanitation, minimizing the impact on the lives of people in the project area.

Construction work on the Ho Chi Minh Highway section passing through Hung Loi commune (Tuyen Quang province) is being accelerated along the entire route.

The Ho Chi Minh Highway project is a key national project, starting at Pac Bo (Cao Bang) and ending at Dat Mui (Ca Mau), with a total length of 3,183 km. To date, 2,488 out of 2,744 km of the main route and approximately 258 km of branch routes have been completed. The Cho Chu - Trung Son Junction section is the "final piece" to complete the entire route by the end of 2025.

The Cho Chu - Trung Son Junction section of the project, approximately 28.98 km long, passes through Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces. It is being constructed to mountainous road standards (Class III), with a design speed of 60 km/h and two lanes. The total investment is approximately 1,665 billion VND from the State budget. Upon completion, it will enhance connectivity and improve the capacity of the Northern Midlands and mountainous region along transportation corridors from Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang to key economic zones. This will be a crucial driving force for socio-economic development, improving the lives of local people and creating opportunities for tourism development in the provinces of the Viet Bac war zone…
