According to information posted on the website of the Department of Registration, a total of 255 Toyota Raize vehicles in Vietnam manufactured between December 15, 2022 and January 7, 2023 will need to be recalled due to errors related to the airbag control system.
The cause of this recall is the airbag control unit, which receives information from the sensor and controls the activation of the airbag and emergency belt tensioner. The affected Toyota Raize vehicles may have a short circuit inside the capacitor of the control unit circuit board.
Owners of recalled vehicles can bring them to Toyota dealers nationwide to have the airbag control box inspected and replaced free of charge. The repair time for each vehicle is approximately 42 minutes.
Customers with affected vehicles will receive a notification from their Toyota dealerships inviting them to bring their vehicles in for inspection. The estimated time to inspect and fix the problem on each Toyota Raize is approximately 40 minutes/vehicle. This Toyota Raize recall begins on June 30 and is expected to end on June 30, 2026.
A few days ago, Toyota Indonesia also issued a recall notice for more than 3,500 Raize, Veloz Cross and Avanza cars due to similar errors.
