On May 19, the University of Foreign Languages ​​(Vietnam National University, Hanoi ) announced that it has just opened a bachelor's program "Teaching Vietnamese as a foreign language" in the field of Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Culture.

The program was born in the context of Vietnam increasing its attraction of international students and spreading Vietnamese language to the world , while meeting the practical needs of foreign experts and international businesses.

“This is the first program specializing in teaching Vietnamese as a foreign language, combining linguistic, cultural and experiential knowledge with courses such as Discovering Vietnam, Vietnamese History through Photos, and Vietnamese Cultural Foundations,” said Chairman of the School Board Do Tuan Minh.

The target audience includes both Vietnamese and foreigners, in which international students will be trained to level 5 in Vietnamese, Vietnamese students will reach level 4 in one of four foreign languages: English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese.

After graduation, students can become Vietnamese teachers for foreigners in Vietnam or countries in need, Vietnamese translators and interpreters, tour guides, editors, office secretaries at international enterprises, etc.

This year, many universities in the South opened new majors, increased their quotas, and adjusted their enrollment plans.
