On the opening day of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Student Futsal HDBank Tournament, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry team gave their home fans a victory.

The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Student Futsal Tournament officially kicked off at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry Gymnasium on the morning of November 4. This is the third season of the tournament organized regionally, after two successful seasons in the Central Highlands (2023) and Hanoi (2024). The tournament is organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City University and Professional Sports Association, aiming to develop the school futsal movement and create a healthy playground for students.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vu Hai Quang - Deputy General Director of VOV, Head of the tournament's steering committee shared: "The core value that student futsal brings is the spirit of healthy sportsmanship , a symbol of dynamic, creative Vietnamese youth who know how to burn themselves out for their passion. The tournament is a valuable opportunity for students to exchange, learn, express the cultural identity of their school, affirming the pioneering role of the young generation in building a dynamic student community."

Ho Chi Minh City Student Futsal Tournament 2025 will be held at the Gymnasium of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, from November 4 to 12.

Also at the opening ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Anh Tu commented: "We have had a very stable student futsal movement and I believe that there will certainly be more universities participating in the coming time. This is the basis to help Vietnamese futsal clubs have many sources to recruit players."

After the opening ceremony, the home team Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City played the opening match and won a dramatic victory with a score of 2-1 against the team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology. In this match, Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City led 2-0 after the first half.

Results of the remaining matches of the competition day 4.11: Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry tied 2-2 with RMIT University, People's Security University tied 1-1 with Saigon University of Technology,FPT University won 2-1 against Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports.

The tournament has 12 teams from the following units: People's Security University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, RMIT University Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology, Saigon University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, Swinburne University Vietnam Alliance Program.

12 teams are divided into 4 groups, competing in a round robin format to determine rankings. The top 2 teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals. 20 matches will take place at the gymnasium of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry (Linh Xuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
