From Big Sur to Sea Lion Point: Nature's Love Song for Travelers

We heard rumors that the coastal route from Los Angeles to San Francisco was extremely eye-catching, so we were determined to experience it. And what we witnessed there left a deep impression on each of us.

Our group traveled along Highway 101 and then onto coastal Highway 1 to head towards San Francisco.

The road passes through many state parks, with majestic mountain ranges on the right and hundreds of meters of vertical cliffs on the left, looking like a solid wall, standing tall to block the rolling waves from crashing onto the shore.

There are numerous scenic stops along the way. You will experience the breathtaking beauty of the curves along the cliffs close to the sea. This time of year, the wildflowers on the hills are in full bloom, adding to the allure of the scenery.

However, among all the beautiful things that this landscape possesses, we were most impressed by the road from Big Sur to Sea Lion Point, which allows visitors from all over to come and see the plump seals basking on the sand in the early morning sun.

Witnessing thousands of seabirds diving into the waves as fast as an arrow to catch fish, along with dozens of elephant seals splashing around in the sea before roaring loudly, climbing ashore to lie on the waves, I suddenly remembered the images in the film "Feast of the Ocean" that I had seen on National Geographic. There were ospreys, pelicans, seagulls, seals, whales, and dolphins competing to hunt for schools of sardines. It was great that this time, I had the opportunity to witness a similar scene in real life.

Looking at the plump seals slowly crawling on the sand reminded me of children whining and acting spoiled towards adults. How funny and interesting! As for the pelicans and seagulls, after their sumptuous "seafood feast", they immediately gathered in a corner to "gossip" loudly.
