According to the Hydrometeorological Station, from the second half of October to December 2025, the total flow from the upper Mekong River to the lower Mekong Delta tends to change slowly with a downward trend, from the end of October to the end of November at a level 15-25% higher than the average of many years, from December 2025 to January 2026 at a level 1-10% higher than the average of many years.
In January 2026, the upstream water level gradually decreased but remained high. The highest water level on rivers in the province was above alert level II and above alert level III. The total water volume through My Thuan was higher than the average of many years in the same period.
From now until January 2026, the province will be affected by tidal surges during the early and mid-month periods. Flooding is likely to have a negative impact on the environment, boat traffic, and economic and social activities will be affected during the period of tidal surges.
