Honoring 36 outstanding ethnic minority youths

On the evening of November 21, in Dien Bien province, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a ceremony to honor 36 outstanding ethnic minority youths, prestigious people and excellent start-up examples. The program is an important highlight in a series of activities under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas by 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang - Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, emphasized that the event has profound political and social significance, demonstrating the support of the Youth Union for ethnic minority youth. She affirmed that the youth in the highlands are contributing to preserving cultural identity, developing the economy and spreading the spirit of solidarity and national pride.

According to Ms. Trang, the 36 young people honored are all beautiful stories of will and aspiration. They started their businesses from their local potential, built economic models, preserved culture, or became the spiritual support of the community. These efforts have contributed to changing the face of rural mountainous areas and ignited the desire for development in the young generation.

At the ceremony, the Central Youth Union awarded certificates of merit to 36 outstanding young people. Many inspirational stories were shared, such as Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoang (Thai Nguyen), who revived a medicinal cooperative, developed 15 OCOP products and created jobs for 18 workers; Senior Lieutenant Tong Duy Tam (Lai Chau), a young soldier who is attached to his village, actively propagating the law and mobilizing the masses; or Lo Chuc Chi (Dien Bien), a 22-year-old girl who started a business making traditional Thai cakes, bringing products to e-commerce platforms and linking them with experiential tourism .

Earlier in the morning of the same day, a seminar on ethnic minority youth start-ups in the technology era took place, discussing access to capital, digital skills and market connections. The Central Youth Union also organized training for officials on ethnic affairs, monitoring national target programs and applying digital technology in community communications.

The commendation ceremony concluded the journey of organizing activities in three regions: the Southwest, the Central Highlands, and the Northern mountainous region, continuing to affirm the trust and expectations of the young generation in the highlands in the journey of national development.
