The Vietnamese women's futsal team defeated the Philippines 3-0 in the second match of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship held at noon on May 9 in China, thereby securing a quarter-final ticket one round early after two wins.
With this victory, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team were also awarded 200 million VND by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
Speaking after the match, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang shared: "Today the team entered the game better than the previous match with Hong Kong. The team's spirit was also better. Our team controlled the game and from there had many advantageous situations."
Evaluating the match's developments, Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang analyzed: "There will be different situations at each moment of the match. In the first half, we played with higher pressing, not giving the opponent much space to develop.
In the second half, we increased our concentration and stability. I am very happy that the team won. It was the effort of all the athletes, you competed with more than 100% of your strength."
When asked about preparations for the final group stage match against defending champions Iran (May 11) to determine the top spot in Group B, the head coach of the Vietnamese women's futsal team said: "After each match, the coaching staff will analyze and evaluate to see what the team has done well and what is not so good, and will also analyze the Iranian team to have a reasonable strategy."
Regarding the squad situation, Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang also added: "Currently, there are no serious injuries on the team. Some players may be a bit overloaded, but the coaching staff will have a solution to help them get in the best shape for the next match."
Compete for 3 tickets to the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup
The 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship will take place from May 7 to 18 in Inner Mongolia (China) with the participation of 12 teams, divided into 3 groups.
The top six teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarter-finals.
The top three teams (champion, runner-up and third place) will qualify for the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup taking place later this year in the Philippines.
