Propaganda about fire prevention and fighting for students

Lieutenant Colonel Bui Van Hong, Deputy Head of the Fire Prevention and Control and Rescue Department of the Soc Trang Provincial Police, said: This activity is the realization of the Ministry of Public Security's plan on propaganda, experience, and practice of firefighting and rescue in 2024.

Simultaneously, the aim is to raise awareness among the general public, and especially among students, regarding the implementation of legal regulations on fire prevention and rescue.

At the same time, it provides guidance on some basic knowledge, fire safety and rescue measures, methods for handling situations, and escape skills in case of fire or explosion in houses, households, apartment buildings, and crowded places.

The event included an introduction to the fire safety model for neighborhood groups and public fire-fighting points; practical training on using fire extinguishers and spraying water to extinguish fires; and instruction on first aid for victims. In addition, officers from the unit demonstrated some fire-fighting and rescue techniques and methods used by the provincial police.

Lam Huynh Ngoc Khue, an 11th-grade student from My Xuyen High School, happily said: “My friends and I really enjoyed participating in today's experience. We were guided on fire prevention and rescue regulations, got to experience using a fire ladder truck, and practiced spraying water and using fire extinguishers to put out fires. This knowledge and these skills are very useful for us.”
