Mobilizing more than 12 billion VND to care for the poor, social protection beneficiaries, and children in difficult circumstances

On the morning of July 22, the Association for the Protection of the Disabled, the Poor and Children's Rights of Tay Ninh province held a conference to review activities in the first 6 months of the year and plan tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

The Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to individuals and collectives with outstanding achievements in the Association's work in the first 6 months of 2025.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Association and its member organizations mobilized organizations and individuals to support cash and goods worth more than 12 billion VND to care for the poor, social protection beneficiaries, children in difficult circumstances, and ethnic minorities, helping them overcome difficulties to stabilize their lives.

In particular, the Association coordinated to organize free cataract surgery for 197 visually impaired people, supported 17 patients in difficult circumstances to treat serious illnesses with a sum of 30 million VND; performed medical examinations and treatment, provided free medicine for over 8,210 patients, and donated 22 wheelchairs to people with disabilities in the province.

The Associations and member organizations continue to maintain 3 charity kitchens, serving 800 free meals to patients in difficult circumstances at hospitals and medical centers in the province.

Regarding assistance to improve living conditions, the Association and its member organizations mobilized 455 million VND to build 5 charity houses, gave 496 million VND in interest-free capital to support livelihoods for 26 households with disabled people, visited and organized the giving of 11,326 gifts with a total value of nearly 7 billion VND to the beneficiaries; provided regular subsidies to 269 cases with especially difficult circumstances,...

At the conference, the Association for the Support of the Disabled, the Poor and the Protection of Children's Rights of Tay Ninh province proposed a direction for activities in the last 6 months of the year, focusing on promoting the mobilization of organizations and individuals to support funds for programs to assist the disabled, the poor, and children in especially difficult circumstances in medical examination and treatment, medical support, employment and other living conditions.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee announced and awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work in the first 6 months of 2025./.
