Donating breeding cows to households on both sides of the Vietnam - Cambodia border

Authorized by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, on the morning of November 8, in Long Thuan commune, Tay Ninh province, the Border Guard Command coordinated with the local Party Committee and authorities of Tay Ninh province to present breeding cows to people in the Vietnam - Cambodia border area. This is one of the activities of the 2nd Vietnam - Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange in Tay Ninh province.

Attending the program, the Cambodian delegation included Mr. Chea Horn - Chairman of Svay Theap district, Svay Rieng province and leaders of Monourom commune, Svay Theap district, Svay Rieng province.

The Vietnamese delegation included Major General Vu Quoc An - Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh; leaders of the Provincial Military Command, Tay Ninh Border Guard Command, Provincial People's Committee Office and leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Long Thuan commune, Tay Ninh province.

People draw lots for the number of the cows to be given away.

Speaking at the program, Major General Vu Quoc An - Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard said that in recent years, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense has organized border defense friendship exchanges with the Defense Ministries of countries sharing borders with Vietnam; continuing to affirm the solidarity and friendship between the armies, local authorities and people on both sides of the border, contributing to building a peaceful , friendly, stable, cooperative and developing border.

For the Cambodia - Vietnam border, the program was first organized in Binh Phuoc province, Vietnam in 2022. From November 13 - 14, 2025, the program was organized by the two countries' Ministries of Defense in Tay Ninh province, Vietnam and Svay Rieng province, Cambodia.

Leaders congratulated households receiving breeding cows.

Along with the above activities, over the years, the Vietnam Border Guard Command has regularly directed the implementation of many activities to support and help people on both sides of the border such as "Border Spring warms the hearts of the villagers", "Helping children go to school", "Adopted children of Border Guard Stations",...

In particular, the program "Helping children go to school" from 2016 to present, together with Vietnamese students, has received support for 872 students in the border area of ​​Cambodia with difficult circumstances with a support level of 500,000 VND/student/month.

At this program, leaders of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, leaders of Tay Ninh province, Svay Theap district, Svay Rieng province, Cambodia and the Party committees and authorities of two border communes presented 20 breeding cows, worth 20 million VND each, to 20 households in difficult circumstances in the border areas of the two countries (10 households in Vietnam and 10 households in Cambodia), contributing to helping households in the border areas develop the economy and stabilize their lives.

Each donated breeding cow brings hope of escaping poverty to people in border areas.

In addition to the program of giving breeding cows, in this Exchange, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense will donate a boarding school worth 25 billion VND and a modern IT room to Ben Cau Primary School, Tay Ninh province; give 60 "Step up to school" scholarships worth 2 million VND each to 60 students (including 30 Vietnamese students and 30 Cambodian students); organize medical examinations and provide medicine to nearly 1,000 people on both sides of the border.

These are important activities in building, consolidating and enhancing the good relationship between the State, the Army, the authorities and the people on both sides of the Cambodia and Vietnam border./.
