According to initial testimony, at around 3 a.m. the same day, Linh took a motorbike taxi from Thot Not district to O Moi ferry (My Long ward, Long Xuyen city), then continued walking to the back gate of An Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital (an area under repair) to climb over the fence to enter the back gate of the hospital, entering the Pediatrics department with the purpose of searching for property to steal. Discovering that everyone was sleeping, Linh broke in and took a black phone of unknown brand on the shelf near the bed of Nguyen Hoang Khang (born in 1995, residing in Thoi Thanh 1 area, Thoi Thuan ward, Thot Not district), who was taking care of a sick child there.

After taking the property, Linh tried to escape from the scene but was suddenly discovered by hospital security, caught red-handed in the hospital room and taken to the main gate of the hospital. There, Linh took the phone hidden in her pocket and returned it to Khang.

At the same time, the hospital security quickly notified the My Binh Ward Police to take Linh to the headquarters to clarify the incident. Thereby, Linh completely admitted to his act of stealing property.
